Baba’s Presence in the Satcharitra

As evident in the Sai Satcharitra, a day after Baba took samadhi, He appeared in Laxman Mama Joshi’s (a village astrologer) dream. Drawing him up by His hand, Baba said, "Get up soon, Bapusaheb [another ardent devotee of Baba] thinks that I am dead and so he won't come. You do the worship and the Kakad (morning) arati." (English translation of Sai Satcharitra Chapters 43 and 44).

Despite not being in His body, Baba continued to give specific, relevant guidance to His devotees. And, to this day, many continue to feel His presence and receive guidance through many ways. It could be in dreams, as inner feelings, or through Baba appearing as a bird or animal. All of these are manifestations of Baba’s eternal presence.

About 106 years have passed since Shirdi Sai Baba took Mahasamadhi (consciously leaving his physical body). However, not a moment passes by for His devotees when they don’t feel His presence. While His physical remains are resting in the Samadhi Mandir (main temple) in Shirdi, Baba’s eternal presence continues to be felt by devotees throughout the world.

Baba’s Assurance of His Presence

Of the eleven popular assurances given by Baba, the third assurance is “I shall be ever active and vigorous even after leaving this earthly body”. The seventh assurance is “I am ever living to help and guide all who come to me, who surrender to me, and who seek refuge in me.” These assurances are not mere words but are beacons of light that continue to illuminate the paths of many who surrender to Baba and seek guidance.

Mohanji’s explanation of Baba’s assurances gives an in-depth understanding of the words spoken by Baba. Mohanji speaks of Baba as a Master who operates 24/7, helping and supporting people while expecting nothing in return. Mohanji points to numerous testimonials given by people in the media and internet that show that Baba is ever present.

Baba miraculously appears in the Mohanji Center of Benevolence

One such astonishing experience is of a devotee in the Mohanji Center of Benevolence, Scotland, where Baba physically appeared and asked for food from the devotee. The devotee recounts the experience where Baba appeared as an elderly person in a robe with a stick and a bowl in His hand and uttered “feed me.” The devotee fed Baba with the food prepared in the kitchen. Baba also encouraged the devotee to share his experience so that everyone would know that Baba is ever present.  

It starts with Gratitude

Baba is unbound by body, time, and space and is eternally present. And, we have the opportunity to connect with him.

One of the most powerful ways to connect with Baba’s presence is to begin with gratitude. As Mohanji has stated, “gratitude always brings grace”. Whether we realize it or not, Baba’s hand is operating in all aspects of our life. If we start recognizing this and being grateful for the experiences of life, grace will flow.

Another aspect is with a stable connection. “If somebody connects to Baba with conviction and continuity, Baba responds accordingly. Much is achieved through connection, much more than with practices. The connection to Ram made Hanuman a deity.” - Mohanji.

Bringing Baba's Presence to Virginia

Preparations are underway to bring Shirdi Sai Baba's idol and presence to the beautiful Appalachian mountain area of Virginia.

The upcoming temple at the Mohanji Center of Benevolence in Virginia will be consecrated during a powerful Prana Prathista ceremony on April 21, 2024. This temple space will serve as a place of rejuvenation and connection to Baba for all who walk on these grounds.
